How the CPS test works
Pick a mode: 1 second for a pure burst, 5 or 10 seconds for the classic click speed test, or 60 seconds for an endurance challenge. Then click or tap inside the pink box as fast as you can. The timer starts with your first click, so you never lose time reading. When the time ends, your score is shown as CPS = clicks ÷ seconds. Each mode keeps its own best score in your browser.
What is a good CPS?
Most people click somewhere around 5 to 8 times per second with normal clicking, and practiced players often reach the low teens with special techniques. These are informal ranges, not official records, and results depend a lot on your mouse, trackpad or phone screen. The short modes favour raw speed; the 60-second mode shows who can hold a pace.
Click techniques
- Normal clicking – one finger, wrist relaxed. Safe and consistent.
- Jitter clicking – tensing the forearm so the finger vibrates on the button. Fast, but tiring; stop if it hurts.
- Butterfly clicking – alternating two fingers on the same button.
- Two-finger tapping on phones – alternate index and middle finger, or both thumbs.
Tips and safety
Warm up your hand with a few rounds of the 5-second mode before trying for a record. Keep your wrist supported and take breaks: very fast clicking puts strain on fingers and tendons, and no score is worth pain. A cheap mouse can also double-click by itself, which inflates scores, so compare results on the same device. Gamers use CPS practice to improve fast actions in games where click speed matters.
FAQ
What does CPS mean?

Which mode should I use?
5 or 10 seconds is the most common click speed test. Use 1 second for a quick burst and 60 seconds to test stamina.

Is my score saved?
Your best score for each mode is saved in your own browser only.
Is this CPS test free and offline?
Yes. It is free, needs no account, and works offline after the first visit.
